i had a discussion today with a witnesse and was directing her toword this site and the qoutes site.
i was thinking though of how the organization used to continually stress the developing of the fruitage of the spirit, i then was reading a book entitled "leaving the fold".
an excellent book written by a doctor who delves into the psychological aspects of cults and religions not necessarilly pointed at just jw's but all such groups.
How can it make any sence for a JW according to the official societys teachings to ever develop the 'fruitage of the spirit' when they also teach that only the annointed recieve the holy spirit?
what i'd like to know is how something called a Holy Spirit, that has obviously Godly and, in turn, humanly qualities... is not a living creature. it's considered to be the ARM OF GOD... my arm doesn't feel love or faith or anything like that. and SINCE WHEN is a spirit non-living???

in a post a couple of months ago, i copied a scan of the form a judicial committee uses to notify the society that someone has been disfellowshipped or disassociated.
this form was issued in july 2001.
has this form been revised since then?
well i'll be buggered. i didn't even know they needed a form to disfellowship someone! i'd like to see that form, and fill it out

i was looking at the news the other day and they had a 100 yr old man that went water-skiing for his 100th birthday.
now i was just thinking like a jw and somehow they might say "that 100 year old man would be of the 1914 generation so there are probably millions like him still alive" so if there is lets say a million 100 year old now living do you think that the wt leaders might think that they abandoned ship to quick when they disregarded the 1914 generation doctrine in 1995?
how many 100 years olds are around today?
they can't do anything about the "GENERATION" because they chose the amount of years straight from the bible... the bible says a generation is 70 or 80 years. so the most it could be was 80 years. that's why they dropped it in 1995.

so... last night i had the dreaded conversation with my mother.
she phoned and asked if she could 'help' me with the truth.
i just could not pretend any more i was missing meetings cos i was depressed or any other reason, i just told her i was having doubts about the whole thing and did not see the point in leading a double life and 'limping along'.
So I said did she think that the only thing keeping me faithful to my husband for example was fear of dying or being disfellowshipped? Without those of course I have no morals and will just turn immediately into a hooker
that's what i love about JW reasoning... their incentives for NOT doing bad things is very warped. it's like they would LOVE to be a part of everything they preach against, except their faith in the slave keeps them from doing so. and that's why they consider every worldly person bad... because they don't have the same bullshit incentives as JW's.
